Science Expo Proposals are due tomorrow for my homeroom class!
Language Arts
Today we reviewed grammar skills. We chose the correct linking verb to connect the subject of a sentence to a noun or adjective in the predicate. We read the story "Mystic Horse" with partners. We listed the major events on a white board with our partners. Then we placed the major events on a plot diagram. We talked about what events were part of the introduction and what events were part of the rising action. We will finish the diagram tomorrow.
Math
Today we discussed measurements and talked about standard measuring. We figured out what our personal measurements for things like cubit, fathom, and spans. We will use this information in tomorrow's lesson. We also played the game first to 21. We have started collecting data about this game. We will use this information later in the unit. Our homework is studylink 6.2
Science
Today we learned more about light pollution. We watched a short video, Once there was a sky full of stars. We also discussed two articles. One was on the Milky Way. The other was a National Geographic article about the Vanishing Night. There is science homework tonight: Each student is supposed to go outside tonight and record all the man-made lights that they can see from the front door. The good news is that the sun sets so early that they should be able to finish this homework by 6:30 or so. :)
