"Blue Ribbon" Thursday

Today was an exciting today day to be at NP.  We all have new t-shirts and we had a great assembly to celebrate our accomplishments! Congratulations NP family!

Language Arts~
Today we went to music class.  We then worked on our handwriting while we waited to be called to the assembly.  We came back and took a quiz over chapter 6-8 in Frindle.

Math~
Today our focus was on measuring and drawing angles using a half protractor.  We did the study link at school because most of the students said that they did not have a protractor at home.

Science (Woods)~
Our focus today was the living things in an ecosystem.  We learned about producers, 3 different types of consumers (herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores), and decomposers.  We also learned about food chains and food webs.  There was a food web worksheet but I do believe that most people got it finished in class.

**Don't forget that science proposals are due on Wednesday, December 15th.  You can find the proposal on the last page of the science expo packet.**

Wintery Wednesday

I am beginning to think that we live in a snow globe.

Tomorrow is our Blue Ribbon Assembly.  The t-shirts still haven't arrived.  They are supposed to arrive tonight.  The shirts will be passed out tomorrow before the assembly.

Math~
Today we learned to measure and draw angles using a full circle protractor.  I figured most families don't have a full circle protractor at home so their is now homework tonight.

Art Smart~
Thank you to our wonderful parents for teaching an amazing lesson today about Egyptian Art.  The kids got to draw Egyptian portraits and also work with hieroglyphics.

Today we talked about measuring angles.  Our focus was on the 360 degrees in a circle and how that compares to a standard, analog clock.  We used kinesthetic learning techniques to learn this by standing up and being the circle/clock.
No homework today.

We will MAP test in math tomorrow.
