Walking in a Winter Wonderland!

I hope everyone is warm and dry this afternoon!  PTO is hosting a swim night at Penn this Wednesday.   Note went home today with youngest and only.

LA~
Today we had music and IMC.  We came back to the room and took an open book quiz over chapters 4 & 5 in Frindle.  We also read chapter 6.  We discussed developments in the books plot, author's craft, and figurative language.  We did venturing into vocab.

One of our awesome parents has found that the Fimo clay we need for our end of book project is on sale this week at Michael's for 4 for $5.  That is half price! We could still use some more.

Math~
Today we talked about measuring angles.  Our focus was on the 360 degrees in a circle and how that compares to a standard, analog clock.  We used kinesthetic learning techniques to learn this by standing up and being the circle/clock.
No homework today.

We will MAP test in math tomorrow.

Science~
Today we looked at ecology.  We learned about ecosystems, habitats, communities, niches, and populations.  We also talked about metamorphosis. All students received a biology study guide.  Grannan will take the test on Tuesday and Woods will take the test on Wednesday.

Did you see the Science Expo papers?  Just as a reminder the expo proposal is due a week from Wednesday.  Students will be graded on their completion of the science journal that came home on Friday.  Students are encouraged to come talk to me about any questions they have regarding completing the science journal.
