Very, very busy day!
Language Arts~
We began the day in Music. We came back to class and reviewed our spelling and vocab skills. Look for the paper in the blue folder. We also practiced with subjects and predicates in our grammar book. We read "A Walk in the Desert" independently. For writing we talked about assonance and metaphors. We wrote cinquains. Many students chose to write about their favorite pet or animal. We saved this writing in our binders. There was one worksheet to review vocab and main ideas and details. Many students may not have finished that. It is due tomorrow.
HW: Weekly packet due. Please make sure that a parent signs the top. Some students have the vocab and comprehension worksheet.
Math~
Today we worked with compasses again. We used compasses to copy lines and make hexagons in circles. We also learned that congruent means same size, same shape. We reviewed the many shapes and concepts that we have talked about this unit.
HW: Math boxes and study link 1.8 Weekly Friday paper is due tomorrow.
Science~
We checked on the radish seeds and wrote down our observations.
We read about the life cycle of flowering plants and the life cycle of
conifers. We also discussed inherited traits and the characteristics of
plants.
HW: Answer the Before you Move on questions on page 31 and
33. Both sets of questions can be on one paper
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SCIENCE BOOKS. We share our science books with another class. It is very important that all science books are returned to class everyday. Check out the link on this blog to access the science book online.
