I hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather!
Homeroom:
Today we started a new routine. We are starting Daily Oral Geography (DOG). DOG reviews geography terms and concepts. It will usually be given out on Mondays and students will have all week to work on it. We will grade it together on Friday. Students are responsible for doing this assignment even if they come in late one day due to a doctors appointment. It's only eight questions.
Language Arts:
Today we sorted spelling words according to vowel sounds and spelling. We had our first vocabulary vine session. We are spending the next 2 weeks reviewing last year's Greek and Latin roots. We will start new roots after we review. We practiced identifying commands and questions. We also reviewed the 4 different types of sentences. We read the story Miss Alaineous. We went to music and gym.
Math:
We played a game to practice finding the factors of various numbers. Homework tonight is Study Link 1.4. We also spent a bit of class assessing our math facts. Being fluent in basic math facts really helps students be able to concepts in math and less on the computation. Please spend a few minutes every night practicing math facts. Make it quick, easy and fun.
Health/Hygiene:
Today we talked about stress and how our body reacts to it. We reviewed the vocabulay in chapter 1. We also talked about the proper way to wash our hands in order to get rid of the most numbers of germs.
