Language Arts. We sorted our spelling words by R sound and practiced writing complex sentences. We read our story together and looked for main ideas. We then used those main ideas to write a short summary of the story. We began writing essays about how our 5 senses help us make healthy choices. This writing is for red ribbon week.
HW: Keep working on Weekly Homework
Math: Today we learned about the friendly number strategy for division. If you are dividing a 3digit number by a one digit number, this strategy allows you to do the work in your head. For example 789/6 can be thought of as (720+69)/6. 720/6 is 120 and 69/6 is 11R3. That means the answer to 789/6 is 131R3.
