Language Arts~
Our story of the week is Snowflake Bentley. This biography tells the story of Wilson Bentley, snowflake photographer. We will be using the skill of summarizing by focusing on main ideas and details. Our vocabulary focus for the week is multiple meaning words. The story vocabulary words are technique, foolishness, inspire, evaporate, microscope, magnify, negatives, and blizzard. You will notice the most of the spelling words are compound words. Irregular verbs will be our grammar skill.

Math~
Today we learned about the what is the one. For example: 14 is 1/2. What is the one? 28. We used shapes and counters to practice this skill. We have a math test on Friday. A study guide came home today. We will spend at least a few minutes everyday reviewing items on the study guide.

Science~
Today we learned about how real life scientist use the properties of matter to predict and prevent avalanches. We also reviewed vocabulary and the properties of matter. Don't forget test next Tuesday!
