Language Arts
Today we reviewed capitalization and punctuation. We also worked on analogies. We added another word to our vocabulary vine rings. We sorted Spelling words and wrote complex sentences. We also read this week's basal story and discussed the characters. We found out that you can tell a lot about a character based on what the character says, thinks, and does. We had music and PE today.
I am still looking for parents that are willing to supply a healthy snack for our class during ISTEP. If you are willing to help me out in this way, please email me and I will write you down on my list. Thanks.
Homework: Continue Fluency and Flow. Check yesterday's post out for a list of expectations for the week.
Math:
We reviewed facts, place value and patterns. We also reviewed subtraction of whole numbers and decimals. Students had a packet to finish today. If they finished, they didn't have homework.
Science
Today we put together our science folders, copied some notes and watched a movie on magnetism. Did you know that Earth, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto are all gigantic magnets? Why? They all have large amounts of iron and nickle at their core. Magnets are always attracted to those things. Tomorrow we are going to see if we can turn something iron into a magnet. No homework today!
