Language Arts:
Today we reviewed different parts of speech and subjects and predicates. We also learned about compound sentences and conjunctions. Tomorrow one of our friends is going to bring in that old Schoolhouse Rock classic "Conjunction Junction." In spelling we sorted our words by spelling and used the words to complete sentences. In reading, we worked on main ideas and details. We followed an outline to help us put things in order. In writing we worked on interesting word choice and precise details. Our writing is much more interesting when we use precise details. Homework: continue working on fluency and flow.
Math:
We reviewed patterns and the expanded form of writing numbers. For example: 654,231=
600,000+50,000+4,000+200+30+1. We reviewed adding by 10's and multiples of 10. We also practiced prime factorization. We reviewed for our test on Friday.
Homework: SL 1.9
Science: We finished up mystery circuits. We completed a quiz over investigation 2. Tomorrow we will review for a test on Friday.
Wow, better get some sleep Thursday night! Friday is a big assessment day in our world!
