ISTEP Session # 1 is right around the corner. We will be testing 3 days next week.
Tuesday - 11:00-11:45 (Math) and 1:00-2:05 (Language Arts)
Wednesday - 8:05-9:15 (Language Arts)
Thursday - 8:05-8:45 (Social Studies)
Please help your child to do well by making sure they get a good night's rest and eat a healthy breakfast. They may bring gum to chew during the test. Mint makes your brain work better.
We all want them to do well.
Language Arts
Today we stared reading Carlos and the Skunk. Our comprehension skill is understanding the author's purpose. Our vocabulary is arousing, nestled, secluded, arroyo, unpleasant, behavior, stunned and glimpse. We are also focusing on prompt writing this week. There is weekly homework this week.
Math
Today we stared a new routine. It is called Problem of the Week and stresses problem solving and being able to write about our thinking. The page that went home for homework today is due Friday. They only need to do problem 1. (Problem 2 and 3 are extra credit)
Science
We stared trying to identify minerals today. We just wrote notes. Tomorrow we test!
