Language Arts~
We had PE and then came back to the classroom for spelling and grammar. The spelling skill focused on accented syllables. The kids found it a bit tough to figure it out. Grammar today focused on superlative and comparative adjectives. Next we read the story and talked about fact and opinions. Our vocabulary this week includes period, vessels, valuable, documenting and estimated. We also worked on published books.
Our RIT words for the week:
Brochure-a booklet or pamphlet that contains descriptive information or advertising.
Third Person - A narrator who is outside the action and refers to characters as he or she.
Antithesis - exact opposite
Omniscient - all-knowing.
Field Guide - a book with pictures and information to help you identify items.
Math~
We reviewed unit 10 concepts for tomorrow's math test. All children should have a completed review sheet. The test will cover these same items.
Science~
We graded morning work and then played electricity and magnetism jeopardy to review for Thursday's test. Here is that website if you want to play at home: http://jeopardylabs.com/play/electricity-and-magnetism34
