What a gorgeous day. Take those books outside to read! I hope the weather stays this great through spring break.
Language Arts
Today we took our spelling pretest, started learning about adjectives, and listened to our story. Because of Winn-Dixie. Our vocabulary words for the week are peculiar, selecting, snuffled, consisted, positive, and advanced. Our skill is connotation and denotation. Denotation is the exact meaning of a word. Connotation is an additional meaning that the word suggests. For example home is denoted as a place you live. Connotations of home might be love, comfort, and security.
Our comprehension skill is summarizing the story. We also visited with our reading buddies today and took the unit 4 test. Homework: Read, read, read!
Math
Today was a catch up day. We finished working on and correcting our addition and subtraction fraction packet. No homework, unless the packet isn't finished.
Science
It was nice to have my own class back again. Today we started landforms. We looked specifally at maps. No homework.
