Today is the last day of winter! Woohoo!!

Today winter is officially over! Knowing Indiana weather I am probably getting excited a little too early but I plan to celebrate anyway.

Some 5th grade parents are asking about promotion. It is scheduled for Friday, May 22 at 10:00 am. This is a change from the original calendar. This date was first published in the October newsletter.

Don't forget to send in your camp forms and money 5th graders. It is due on April 3rd.

Language Arts
Today we learned the many confusing rules for using commas with adjectives. Commas are not used when the adjectives refer to size, color or age. They are also not used with and or if one of the adjectives is proper. We also reviewed connotation and denotation. We looked at poetry and reviewed onomatopoeia and similes. We had music and p.e. Don't forget to turn in your reading minutes tomorrow!

Math
We further reviewed fraction of and percent of problems. This will get easier the more that we work with the concept. Our study link is 8:10.

Science
We discovered how slope will effect the stream table experiment. We found out that the canyons were deeper, there were less meanders, and the deltas were bigger if we the stream table was sloped. No homework tonight.
