Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

Brrrrrr... Recess sure was cold today. Students need to dress appropriately for the weather! Please make sure that students have jackets, boots, gloves, scarfs, hats and the like for recess. Hoodies are not enough protection for the wet, white stuff falling from the skies.

Food Drive
Please don't forget the food drive that is happening at school this week. We need your help to make a needy families Thanksgiving wonderful. We will be collecting food until Friday!

Language Arts
Today was a catch-up day of sorts. We finished our 20 question game to practice generating questions. We also reviewed our grammar skill for the unit. We read the story one time. We also took our unit 2 test. Many of us didn't finish it. So we will be working on that tomorrow. Fluency and Flow will also be sent home tomorrow.

Math
We did a review of unit 4 skills today. Tomorrow we will review as a class and the test is on Wednesday. No homework tonight, however, students who didn't finish the review need to finish it tonight! All students would benefit from going over the review with a parent and practicing skills.

Science
Today we reviewed our written work from last week. One thing we discovered last week is that the way the batteries faces makes a difference if the receiver works. Some students were having trouble with this concept. I suggested they take put batteries in a flashlight and see what worked and what didn't. I did tell them that they need parent permission before they started messing with the flashlights. We built electromagnets. An electromagnet is special because it is a magnet that can be turned off and on.
