I hope that everyone had wonderful weekends! It was great to see everyone today.
Language Arts
Today we reviewed language arts skills. We also had our spelling pretest. We are reviewing RIT words this week. We introduced our vocabulary words: robot, defective, meteor, rotated, staggered, reversed, dangling, and tokens. We introduced our comprehension skill: making inferences and drawing conclusions. We began listening to our story Zathura by Chris Van Allsburg. We went to gym and music. Page 5 of the published book project must be edited and signed by tomorrow morning!
We also discussed our 3rd nine weeks reading project. We know that 5th graders have a lot on their plates right now with Science Expo and published books. Therefore we are making a poster for this book project. We still expect the project to be well thought out. The project will hang in the ELA during Gallaxy Gallery. Check out the lime green sheet for details.
Math
Today we worked with paranthesis. Without paranthesis we learned that the answer to a math problem could be a couple of different answers. Homework is 1/2 sheet worksheet from me and math boxes 7.4.
Science
Today we saw the results of our evaoporation experiment. We discovered that there are many types of crystals in the soloution we got from dissolving mock rocks.
Don't forget that Science expo is due in less than 2 weeks.
