What a busy day we have had!
Remember that we are collecting toothbrushes (individual, in original wrapping) for Haiti.
Science Expo projects are due on Monday! This will allow the teachers to grade them before expo. We encourage all parents to pick up their child's project at the expo.
Language Arts
Today we reviewed skills. We also worked on the grammar skill of plural nouns. We added words to our vocabulary chart and did some journaling based on ideas from The Cricket in Times Square. Homework tonight is for children to read chapters 4 and 5 and answer questions on the worksheet. We went to gym and music. Today was Ms. Riley's last day. Mrs. Blanton comes back next week.
Math
Today we learned about subtracting integers. The trick is to change all subtraction problem to addition problems. You do this by changing the minus sign to a plus and then changing the sign of the second addend: -4-(-4)= becomes -4+ (+4) =

Science
Today we looked at the earth's structure. We filled out a study guide based on some non-fiction reading in our ScienceSaurus. There will be a quiz over the material next Wednesday. We will complete our experiment and our study guides tomorrow. No homework.
