Sorry I didn't blog last night. Here is the scoop!
Language Arts
We reviewed skills. We finished talking about chapters 1 and 2. We read chapter 3 and answered questions. We visited with our reading buddies. We took a comprehension quiz over chapters 1-3 and worked on page 13 of our published books. The good news is that we only have 2 pages to go and then we begin to type!!!! Page 13 is due on Thursday.
Math
We talked about how to add negative numbers. This skill can sometimes be confusing so we used + and - signs to help us. We also drew pictures which is very helpful when trying to figure out some math problems. Study Link 7.7 was assigned as homework.
Science
We are still waiting for our vinegar to evaporate. And yes, the classroom smells just lovely. :)
So we watched a movie about rocks and minerals. We discovered how scientist test for different qualities, how rocks are formed, different types of rocks and uses of rocks. We took a 5 point quiz over the movie.
Help for Haiti
Stars in Service is sponsoring a collection of personal care items to be sent to Haiti. 5th grade is responsible for bringing in single toothbrushes in original wrappers. We are collecting through next Thursday.
Don't forget Science Expo is due next Monday.
