Language Arts.
We reviewed language arts skills. We had vocabulary vine today and learned about different Greek and Latin roots that mean run: curr, curs, and cours. We didn't take a spelling pretest today. Instead everyone will be learning the O list.
Our story for the week is a fantasy called Westlandia. It is about a boy, Wesley, who develops a whole civilization based on a plant. Our comprehension skill is characterization (figuring out a character based on their actions and words). Our vocabulary includes shortage, bedlam, outcast, reflected, strategy, civilization, traditional, and complex. We are looking at word parts this week. Our grammar skill is different types of adjectives.
There is weekly homework this week. All tests will be on Thursday instead of Friday.
Published books are due on Wednesday. Published book orders are due tomorrow. Please send in an order even if you don't intend to buy. Just check no at the bottom of the sheet and sign it. If you do order books don't forget to add money for shipping and handling.
