Good afternoon everyone!
Language Arts: Today we went to Music. We practiced identifying declarative (telling) sentences. We used context clues to put our spelling words into sentences. We combined simple sentences into compound sentences. We reviewed our vocabulary words and how to identify main ideas and details. We also practiced writing to a prompt. Students were asked to write 2 paragraphs on whether or not returning elk to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park was a good idea or not. They were to use at least 2 details from their story. This was homework if they didn't get it done. Weekly homework is due tomorrow. Please make sure that parents sign the packet and initial the reading minutes for each day.
Tomorrow is the last day for book orders. I plan to submit the order around 8:00 tomorrow morning.
Math: Today we practiced finding equivalent names for numbers. Study Link and Math Boxes 2.2 was assigned for homework.
Science (Grannan): Today we began a landforms webquest. No homework.
