Wednesday

Wow! We were talkative today!

Language Arts
Today we had computer lab. We practiced our skills using Study Island. We did our grammar minute. We needed to decide if a sentence was declarative (telling) or imperative (commanding).
We used spelling words to complete analogies. We practiced writing complex sentences. We visited our reading buddies. We read our story with partners and also wrote in a mini-writing marathon. Today's subject was cheese!

I reopened the online book order process until next Tuesday because of the online order confusion of last week. If you want to order from the online book orders please see last Wednesday's blog entitled: Updated book order information.

HW: Read for 20 minutes and work on weekly homework.

Math
Today we guessed, estimated, and counted the number of raisin in a small box. The guess was based on no information. The estimate was based on the number of raisin you could count when you opened the box. We then found landmarks for the data: maximum, minimum, range, mode.

HW: I think everyone got done but just in case they didn't: Math Boxes and Study Link 2.5

Science (Grannan)
The dirt arrived and today we began building a model of our school yard. The next few weeks in science are going to be messy!

HW: None
