Cut your box top off your waffle box Wednesday!

The title of today's post was what WSTAR ended their broadcast with this morning. I thought it was a great reminder about our boxtop and label collection. Don't forget to send them in. The school really can earn a lot of free stuff!

Language Arts
Today we reviewed spelling definitions and the ways we use commas. We also learned about the greek roots hydro (water) and dyna, dynamo (power, force). We wrote letters describing the kind of camp that we would like to attend and visited our reading buddies. We looked for the main ideas that were found in this week's story and reviewed examples for our RIT words. We also practiced our handwriting and listened to Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Keep working on weekly homework.

Math
We took a quiz. Not everyone is done but as I looked them over it seems we still need some practice with adding and subtracting decimals. We will continue to review that skill. We also learned about averaging numbers and reviewed other data landmarks: maximum, minimum, range, median, and mode. Homework tonight is study link 2.4 and students will need parent help!

DARE: Officer Redman came today to introduce us to the DARE program. We will spend the next 9 weeks learning how drugs affect our bodies and ways to say no.

Don't forget tomorrow is the Welcome Back Picnic!
