Language Arts
Today we started 5th grade Vocabulary Vine words. Today's roots were cosmo which means universe or world and areo which means air. We continued working with complex sentences in grammar and sorted r-controlled vowel words in spelling. We read our story with a partner and went to gym and music. Please keep working on weekly homework.
Math
Today we worked on problem solving and took notes on what is a number sentence. We know that number sentences can be true or false and that they must contain these things: numbers, a relational symbol (equal, greater than, less than) and an operational sign (+,-, * /). Number sentences may include a variable. If that happens, the sentence is said to be open. Homework is study link 2.4 There is also a quiz tomorrow over: place value, adding and subtracting whole numbers and decimals and problem solving.
Health
Today we reviewed chapter 2. Test is on Thursday.
Tomorrow we have DARE in the afternoon.
Things to remember:
PTO meeting tomorrow followed by an Art Smart meeting.
Thursday night is the Welcome Back Picnic
PTO is collecting boxtops and cambells soup labels through the middle of October. Please put them in the collection bin in the lobby.
