Language Arts: We reviewed the phonics rules for the long u and Greek and Latin roots today. Starting next week we will be learning new Greek and Latin roots. Mrs. Slater came in and talked with us about bullying today. We read with our reading buddies. We also reviewed the meanings for simple and complete subjects and predicates. We reread our story for the week and practiced our handwriting while Ms. Grannan read from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Keep working on the weekly homework. It is due the day after tomorrow.
Math: We reviewed the unit review for the test tomorrow. We decided that having a system for finding factors was going to be the best help and that writing the numbers in numerical order would also be helpful. For example, if you are trying to find all the factors for 32, you would start with 1, ......,32 then add 1, 2, ..........16, 32, then 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32. Knowing those divisibility rules will help. Homework was too study for the test and finish the math checking progress.
Health: We learned how environment and heredity both determine how we grow up. We also learned how the endocrine system helps us to grow and how bones and muscles are formed. We did the lesson checking progress. No homework.
