Finished Friday

What a beautiful day!

We are still collecting boxtops for education.

Silly Safaris will be visiting us on Monday.

Wednesday is the first PBA day of the year. School starts 2 1/2 hours later. AM buses run 2 1/2 hours late as well.

On Thursday, Rick Glassman will be here to teach us about nature.

Language Arts
Today we showed what we know. We took assessments over reading, spelling, and grammar.
We continued presenting our book projects. I have a list of books that I need to add to my "I want to read that one" list.

Math
We had centers today. We did 4 rotations. One rotation worked on a geometry packet. Another played the game Zoom to practice mental math. The third rotation practiced math facts on the computer. The fourth group met with me. We worked on constructing lines with compasses. We also practiced using a protractor. Students have a decimal multiplication page that is due to me on Monday. We will have a little time to work on that on Monday. The geometry packet is due on Wednesday.

Science
Today we learned that a switch opens and closes a circuit. The circuit is on when the circuit is closed and off when the circuit is open. We also learned about schematic drawing. One student in the class noticed that he could use the end of his pencil to close the circuit. Why does this work? We will find out on Monday! No homework.

Have an excellent weekend!
