Language Arts
Tomorrow is Assessment Friday. So today we reviewed assessed skills. We reviewed the correct way to make a singular noun plural and when do we use a comma. We reviewed the vocabulary words and how word origins can help us figure out the meaning of words. We reviewed making inferences and how that helps us when we are reading. We also took our spelling bubble test. Tomorrow and Monday we will be presenting our cereal box reading projects. Don't forget fluency and flow is due tomorrow and book orders are due on Monday!
Math
Today we worked with a compass. We used it to make circles and we also used it to construct lines of equal measurement. We also discussed adjacent angles and vertical (or opposite) angles. This geometry unit is hard work but we will keep working on it. No homework tonight.
Science
Today we made a light bulb light using a d-cell and 2 wires. Then we made it light with a d-cell and just one wire. We learned that electricity must travel in a path called a circuit and every circuit must have an electrical source (d-cell), wires, and electrical receiver (light bulb). These things are called components. No homework tonight!
