I was sick yesterday. It's so nice to be back at work.
Language Arts.
Today we had reading buddies, reviewed common and proper nouns and clarified what the expectations for the reading projects. We also worked on our first choice writing assignment for the year. I have seen some amazing poetry while conferencing with students.
Math.
We practiced facts and reviewed for a math test tomorrow. Students have a checking progress to work on tonight. These same types of questions will be on the test tomorrow. Please review with your child to make sure they understand what is expected of them on the test. #12 and 13 will not be on the test tomorrow.
Science
We learned more about magnets today. We learned about north poles and south poles. We also learned the terms temporary magnet and induced magnetism. No homework tonight.
NCLI Day is coming!
Friday is No Child Left Inside Day. Students will be in their language arts classes all day. My language arts class will be outside a good chunk of the morning. Please make sure your child dresses appropriately. We will also be eating outside. It would be helpful if children could bring a sack lunch on Friday and a blanket or towel to sit on for lunch. Another bonus about this day is that 1 and 1/2 hours of the morning will be spent with our reading buddies. What an awesome opportunity for the buddies to bond!
