Wet? Wednesday

How can it possibly be Wednesday already? The weeks fly by!

Keep collecting those boxtops.

Stars in Service representatives have a meeting tomorrow.

Language Arts
Today we reviewed grammar skills. We reviewed common, proper, singular and plural nouns. We also talked about what a comma is used for and practiced using commas in a list. We read our story independently today. Mrs. Slater came in today to work on our anti-bullying materials. Today's focus was what to do if we were being a bully. Sometimes we make bad choices or don't realize that our behavior is hurting someone else. The key is to realize what we are doing that is wrong, apologize and then try to make it right. 2 very brave girls gave their book projects today. Hurray to 1/3 of the class that has them turned in early. We talked about what would make a good presentation. We just can't read the back of the box. Instead we need to talk to our audience. The students took notes on what to talk about.

October book orders went home today. They are due on Monday, October 13!

Math
Today we worked with protractors to measure angles. We also talked about what an acute, obtuse, right, straight, and reflex angles were. We took notes. If we know what type of angle it is, using the protractor is not so hard. We also worked again with landmarks.

Homework: Study Link 3.4. We also have multiplication with decimals page that is due on Monday, October 13. Students should have this at school everyday so that they can work on it in their free time.

Science
We took a magnet quiz today. Tomorrow we will start to work with electricity. Don't worry we only use a d-cell battery and it isn't enough electricity to hurt anyone.
