Good Afternoon!
Information came home about kids club opportunities over parent-teacher conferences and fall break. Information also came home about Red Ribbon Week. Check out the backpacks.
Tomorrow is stuffed animal day. We are trying to raise enough money to adopt a snow leopard named Tami at the Potowatomi Zoo. Students who bring in $1.00 will be able to keep a stuffed animal on their desk all day.
Tomorrow night is Northpoint's annual fall fest. Parents have been working hard preparing a wonderful evening for us. We hope to see you there.
Language Arts
Students received information about the 2nd 9 weeks reading project. Please look for that info in the take home folder. Let me know if you have further questions. This does have to be on a different book than the first 9 weeks project. The AR test has to be on a different book as well.
Rick Glassman visited Northpoint today and taught the 4th graders about soil. Ask them what parent material, sub soil, and top soil are? Also ask how long it takes to make 1 inch of top soil.
Math
We learned to play a game called polygon capture today. We are focusing on the different attributes that make up polygons. Studylink 3.7 was assigned as homework. Tomorrow is game day. We will be playing factor captor, polygon capture, zoom and doing accelerated math.
Science
My homeroom was back in science today. This roation ends on November 10. Today we learned about series circuits and that if you use two batteries, they need to be facing the same directions. Some of the students today made parallel circuits. We will learn more about them tomorrow. No homework.
